Sorry no pics and I will be away from the web for a week!! But maybe there will be pics when I get back!! Mind you, I'm not promising anything!! Headed in the same direction as last year and hope to be in Newport longer and deeper (I did'nt get very far in last time, never saw water). Stay tuned and if there is some time before classes start in Aug. I will try to get back to this.
Actually spring break is over Monday and it's Saturday now. I've been a busy little bee. I'm reading things for school and for interest, both are pretty good. For school it's Gender in Archaeology. The book I'm reading for pleasure is The Heretics Daughter.
I have been pretty busy, I just got home from a second cousins second wedding. It wasn't bad!! Of course the rest of the day is free time for me to do anything I want and I will spend it with my computer watching You Tube videos of cast ons for toe up socks I'm going to "get it" if "it" kills me!!!
Meanwhile there are some projects that are finished. When I get them loaded to flickr, they will be here soon. Sorry this post is so short, I just wanted to prove that I am indeed still here, just not as active as I would like.
The semester just past was the most difficult and rewarding that I can recall. After struggling for months, I was only getting a D and thought I was going to pass by the skin of my teeth only! You could have knocked me over with a feather when I ever looked up my final grade and found that not only had I been able to pull up the D, but, pulled it all the way up to a B-! The final was not as hard as I was expecting as I had studied the past tests and the instructor was good about putting the notes online.
Enough about school though, lets get to the good stuff. These are shawls that were made for some very good friends. I hope the pictures come thru!!
My mid-term grade is a big ole fat D Yay, I'm passingand the last exam was 40 out of 50 and the last lab report was 7 out of 10. That makes me hopeful that I'm pulling up the D and may even get a C-, In Physics thats an A to a Math Phobic Non-traditional totally out of her element student. Ladies keep my chair warm at Panera's (if next semesters class dosen't happen to fall on a Thursday again) I'll be back!!
It may be a while before I have much time to devote to blogging. I'll be taking a class that I expect to be challenging . It's called Physics for Liberal Arts. My sil was a math major in college so I hope we can handle it together! If I need more help my friends from stich and bitch have offered their expertise (accountants, architects, engineers, teachers, and all around wonderful people), and I sing at church with two high school math teachers who are willing to help out if need be. So I will not be lacking in the support area. I can't tell you all how much that means to me, that there are so many people willing to see me through this class is so awesome! Thanks everyone!!!
I was able to watch as some young ladies dressed in period costume played a lawn game!! Can you imagine having to get dressed and put on shoes to go outside to go to the bathroom!! Well, I guess if you've been camping you can!! Much to my surprise there were two looms in an upstairs room in this ancient home. It must have belonged to a fiber lover... because, this is what I found on a table in the room below!!!
All in all I would say had quite a nice time on vacation, what with Newport on Tuesday, going to a spa on Wednesday, Thursday at the Seaport and visits to my girlfriend and shopping!! Scattered throughout were four of the wineries on the Connecticut Wine Trail that I was able to visit, Stonington Vineyards and Jonathan Edwards in No. Stonington, Chamard in Clinton and Bishops Orchards Winery in Guilford!! There is just so much stuff to do out in that part of Connecticut!!
My SnB friends will also appreciate the fact that I was able to hit, Mystic River Yarns, Saybrook Yarn and Madison Yarn on my way home (Don't
even ask how much I spent, ladies).
Although there are many places that I would like to see before I
leave this earth, I do believe that home is the best place of all!!
There is not a better place to live than right here!!!
I will be web less for a week. That will be my excuse for not answering anyone or not posting any thing for a bit. I'm headed east where I have a friend. We will do some things together as in previous years but maybe not as much as I'd like because she is not feeling too well. I will probably go to Mystic Seaport and shopping in Olde Mystik Village and maybe I'll make it to Newport this year!
July is national ice cream month! What's your favorite flavor?

I love the Holiday flavors, the ones that seem to come out only around the holidays Rum Raisin and Frozen Pudding!
